STREET SIGN RESTORATION PROJECT

The City of Friona has purchased over 99 street name signs to replace old or missing signs throughout the City.  New street signs help with mail distribution and assist police, fire and EMS personnel in navigating streets during emergencies. Pictured above is City employee Skyler Harris placing new street name signs at the intersection of Washington Avenue and East 9th Street.

Student poll-worker program

The City of Friona, in partnership, with the Friona ISD, created the Student Poll-Worker Program to help encourage local government participation with high school students by allowing them to serve as election clerks, which gives them insight into the democratic process of their community. This year's student poll-workers include Vivianna Rivera, Edvin Morales, Briana Padilla, and Faith Fothergill who are shown above with Friona ISD Election Clerk Imelda Saucedo and the City's Student Poll-Worker Program Coordinator and Deputy City Clerk, Rosa Mendez.
