Since 1928, the City of Friona has seen steady population and economic growth. The 2010 census listed the population of Friona as 4,123. The City owns the municipal water and wastewater services. Additionally, the City operates a local police department, emergency medical services, public works, library, municipal court, and general administrative staff. Fire service protection is provided by an all-volunteer fire department. The local solid waste collection is contracted with an area vendor.

What We've Achieved
Public Safety Enhancements: specialized training for police officers, a new second and third ambulance, and wildfire equipment to help combat fires via a county subsidy;
Water and Wastewater Services: securing a grant for the construction of approximately 1900 feet of 10-inch water line for a water distribution system improvement project;
Beautification: the launch of the Keep Friona Clean Campaign to remind residents of the importance of waste management and sustainability, code compliance, and street and traffic sign restoration;
Technology Advancements: a new website and better allocation of technology resources throughout the city including digital council packets
