5 year strategic plan

The City of Friona has crafted a 5 Year Strategic Plan for multiple renovations for the community center and surrounding area. Among those improvements are:
Hvac project with
bob’s HEATING & air Conditioning
Completed by Bob’s Heating & Air Conditioning on March 23, 2020, the first step in the plan was a HVAC Repair/Replacement Project. With more than a 40 year old system, it failed to keep up with the increasing demands of the town’s needs.
The HVAC project will ensure the community of an updated system for events.

Through the years climate and age had taken its toll on the Community Center’s roofing. With leaks causing damage to the heating and cooling systems located inside the building as wells as tiles in the restrooms. As these issue continued, the maintenance only accumulated, so following the HVAC project, a new roof became priority. On May 8, 2020, Hamilton Steel & Concrete, LLC completed the much needed roof remodel.
Restrooms & kitchen
Other plans for the Community Center include updated restrooms and a remodel of the kitchen. Both are in need of timely updates and newer technology.
Featured in the plans for both restrooms include new ceramic title flooring, new sinks, and updated light fixtures.
An update of the kitchen is expected to include all stainless steel appliances, serving window, and new counters.

The new tentative welcome monument sign will be placed at the entrance to welcome all visitors to the Friona Community Center & RV Park.

Plans for the Community Center also include a raised foyer entrance, outside sitting area, covered porch and a fire pit. Also with these plans, outside sitting looking out to Reeve Lake is tentative.
